Toddler Team: Saturdays 8:30-9am

Pre-K & Kindergarten: Saturday  9-10am  (no games)

1/2/3 Team: Saturday  9-10am  (possibly a few games on Saturdays)

4/5/6 Team: Monday, Wednesday, Friday with games on ANY WEEK DAY.

4/5/6: Family Fridays Information:

Family Fridays were a HIT last year!

In the spirit of community, comradery, and competition, Fridays will be scrimmage days for both teams. Each team will play small sided scrimmages against their own team. Coaches will be able to stop plays and coach during the scrimmage, which is essential for player and team development.

The Snack Shack will be open some Fridays, and we also are hoping to have potlucks and picnics as well. We hope that after the scrimmages, families will stay at the field to gather, celebrate, and eat together, as a community. We believe that this time will play a key role in team bonding, and bring another level of “togetherness”.

Player participation in the scrimmages is required.

Player and family participation in the dinners are not required, however strongly encouraged.

We may have games scheduled on Fridays, on those days we won’t have Family Fridays.

4/5/6 Game Info:

This team will have games scheduled throughout the months of September and October during the week. The team’s games could be on any week day, not just the days listed on the practice schedule. The schedule will be posted on our website and emailed to parents and families.

Weather Guidelines

Here you will find information about how we decide to cancel practices and games.

You will get an email sent to the email you put on your child’s registration form, notifying you of the cancellation.

Practices and games will be canceled if:

-There is a thunderstorm

-The temperature is below 35 degrees fahrenheit

-The temperature is above 95 degrees fahrenheit

-There has been significant rainfall in the last 24 hours, to limit damage to fields.

We will continue to have practice if it is raining. If it's really cold and/or raining really hard, we will seek shelter in the Snack Shack or Putney Central School, until players are picked up.

Players will always be allowed to warm up if they are cold, and cool down if they are too hot.

In the event a thunderstorm should interfere with play, students will be brought into the Snack Shack or Putney Central School for safety until they are picked up by parents/guardians. Should we hear thunder or see lightning, we will wait to resume play until 30 minutes after the last strike of lightning, or sound of thunder.

Covid Guidelines/Sick Policy

If your child goes home from school and isn’t feeling well, they will not be able to practice/play in a game that day.

If your child is sick, we highly encourage them to stay home. If they have had a positive covid test, we will refer to the CDC Guidelines to figure out when they can play.

We do not require players, coaches, referees, timekeepers, or any member of the PRL to be vaccinated.

Players will not face any negative repercussions for being sick and missing practice or a game. We believe health comes first, and we support each and every player. However, we DO require communication to your players coach or the Program Coordinator should your player need to miss practice or a game.

Expectations of Parents

Parents are expected to get their players to practice and games on time. They are also expected to pick up their players when the practice is over, or the game ends.

Please let your coach know if your player needs to miss practice or will be late. A quick email is great!

Parents are expected to have proper sideline behavior.

Parents are not to coach their players from the sidelines. We love to see encouragement and hear the crowd get excited about a great play, or an awesome save! Let’s encourage our players by responsible, respectful, sportsmanlike cheering, while reserving the coaching to the coaches.

Parents should be respectful and supportive of all Putney Rec League Coaches, board members, referees, and officials.

If a parent has a concern and would like to address it with a coach, referee, board member of the PRL we ask that you please do it respectfully. The board members of the PRL will address any concerns brought to our attention.

Expectations of Players

We expect our players to always show respect, kindness, and good sportsmanship.

We expect our players to always try their best.

Players are expected to come to practice and games prepared with all their proper equipment and attire.

Players are expected to be respectful of their coaches, referees, PRL board members, and volunteers.
